EXPLANATORY NOTE ON SUMMARIZED LIST OF THE ANNUAL ENGAGEMENTS
1. Royal ceremonies, State ceremonies and Religious ceremonies comprise ceremonies which take place
regularly or on special occasions, such as the commemoration of the Coronation Day, the ceremonies
celebrating Their Majesties’ Birthday Anniversaries, the religious ceremonies of presenting Kathin robes
and gifts to monks as well as other religious ceremonies presided over by Their Majesties and the Royal
Family, such as the casting of Buddha’s Images, the raising of the Chor Fah and the laying of Foundation
Stones of Temples, the funerals of those who lost their lives in the service of the country and deserving
dignitaries, etc.
2. Charity functions comprise functions and events organized for charity and various purposes which Their
Majesties and the Royal Family presides, such as sports competitions, entertainments, meetings, social
engagements, etc.
3. Educational ceremonies and functions comprise functions relating to education, such as the conferring of
academic degrees, diplomas and certification on those who have completed their studies from education
institutions, as well as the visits and inspections of activities of education institutions, and the lectures to
students.
4. Visits to people and to various places comprise the visits which Their Majesties and the Royal Family made
to meet people in urban and remote areas, the visits made to open new establishments and constructions,
as well as the visits to foreign countries for various functions.
5. Audiences granted to foreign chiefs of states and dignitaries comprise the occasions which Their Majesties
and the Royal Family grant audiences and receive State guests, chiefs of diplomatic missions and
international organizations who make a visit to Thailand.
6. Audiences granted to Thai citizens and foreigners comprise the occasions which Their Majesties and the
Royal Family grant audiences to government officials, businessmen, scholars and citizens, both Thai and
foreigners.
7. Royal sponsored wedding ceremonies.
8. Appointments of representatives to discharge various functions of Their Majesties’ behalves.
